The latest offering from Australian producer Mark Maxwell, is sure to get listeners moving with his aptly titled record ‘Dance’. Kicking off with an explosive sultry vocal, the record then transcends into a dance-floor heater. Drawing inspiration from Chemical Brothers and Soulwax, the track see’s the emerging producer further explore warping synth patterns and brings disco elements into a driving tech house record.

Mark Maxwell elaborates on this inspiration for the track, “Long before the sweaty nightclubs and endless days in the studio, I had Chemical Brothers and Soulwax blaring through the headphones of my Sony Walkman. I’ve been a bit nostalgic over the last few months, and been revisiting some of my favourites from the early 2000s and I feel this is the kind of music we need right now. It’s robust, it’s focused, but undeniably fun. DANCE is a collage of sorts - as I’ve been stuck in my studio, I’ve been collecting different vocals, noises, and synths and finding a way to piece them all together. I want this song to be your get up and go on Monday morning. It’s your PT yelling for one more set. It’s your first drink on a Friday afternoon.”

Mark Maxwell began gaining attention in the Australian club scene with his remix of the #1 ARIA club chart Colour Castle record ‘Love Addict’ as well as his Roger Sanchez endorsed remix of ‘Let The Music Do The Work’ by The Potbelleez. Following that he has released a number of energetic singles, including ‘Underground Vibe’ which hit #6 on the ARIA Club Chart and more recently his debut on Club Sweat, ‘Say It (Like That)’ where he started further exploring an upfront tech inspired sound.

Mark is now boosting his local community with a fantastic new collaborative event called StartSequence on the Sunshine Coast (QLD). A handful of successful applicants will join forces as performer / producer duos to write and record throughout the weekend. With the support and guidance of industry leading mentors and studio technicians, each duo will work in makeshift ‘home studios’ in The Hub to finish a song. The weekend finishes with a judging panel, presentations, and a party, with prizes valuing $1000 up for grabs! Check out there event HERE!

1. Ah Ah Ah - Black V Neck

A newy from the Club Sweat camp. This vocal is so much fun and the bassline rolls along so nicely!

2. Partay - Cloonee

This is such a jam. I love the hype vocal and the 'stomp your feet' bassline suits my awkward dance moves.

3. Dance Much - Jaded

Now this is a fun one from Club Sweat. I'm a big fan of an unusual vocal and some simple call and response between the vocal and the popcorn style synth. Noice!

4. Believe - Stacie Fields

Stacie has such a solid taste in classic house sounds! This record could be played at any time of the night and do damage! Keep watching Stacie - she's going places!

5. Follow Me (Erik Hagleton Rework) - Aly-US

This is one of my favourite records of all time. Its often the last track I play if I'm ever closing a venue. It's got such a great message about freedom, love and equality and is great to send the punters out into the world feeling good.
