Having released her debut Ep, playing Bohemian Beatfreaks Festival twice and securing her spot in the Queensland club circuit with a residency at Prohibition Nightclub, Brisbane’s Tech House pocket rocket DJ and Producer Tara Bloom is back with her two track Ep ‘My Obsession’ set to release with Melbourne based label Hot Sunday Records on September 24th.

Having grown up in the Australian electronic underground, Tara takes heavy inspiration from her formed bond with the rave scenes of the east coast. While looking up to and gaining influence from artists such as Mija, Eli Brown and Will Clarke and performing on stages supporting big names like Green Velvet, Kolombo and Josh Butler she has created a sonic flavour that is all hers with grungy baselines, 90’s synths and her own moody vocals a signature for Tara.

With most of the world feeling the aftermath of lockdowns and isolation the ‘My Obsession’ Ep features two tracks that revolve around the nostalgia of looking back to the feelings of love, lust and freedom of expression that we were once able to feel on a dance floor. With the title track ‘My Obsession’ we are introduced into a world that is mysterious, playful and welcoming all at once, like taking your first step into a rave. The second track ‘Rave in Love’ evokes a more emotional approach as the affair between you and the dance floor begins to take hold and you find yourself shifting in and out of states of euphoria and adrenaline.
The Ep aims to remind you that those feelings are a product of our connections through art and each other and can be there to tap into at any moment.
